| One of the best ways to get a good sense of Vancouver Island in a day! From the Settled east side to the wild west side and a boat ride too. No hiking! Some walking.
- A scenic drive in the Rainbird van along Sproat Lake and down a mountain river valley to Ucluelet , a village tucked into a cove on the outside of Vancouver Island;
- You will be stopping at unique features along the way for interpretation, birding, or to enjoy the scenery. Featured stops include, the Sproat Lake Petroglyphs, the historic Taylor River fire, a secret spot along the Kennedy River, the Black Hole, Amphitrite Lighthouse and more!
- And a trip back on the MV Frances Barkley (an historic small freighter owned by Lady Rose Marine Services) up a West Coast fjord. It's a microcosm of the landscapes on Vancouver Island.
- You can enjoy a picnic lunch at a picnic table in the harbour of Ucluelet before heading to the wharf for the trip back to Port Alberni.
