Fossli Park Hike

A hike to a beautiful and remote waterfall near magnificent Sproat Lake

No signs identify this park that is slightly off the beaten track. We hike from a logging road along an old grown-over logging road/trail to an exquisite little suspension bridge over St. Andrews Creek.

From there we hike down further to Fossli waterfall. The stream below it is an idyllic Shangri La where towering alders and Maples create a tunnel effect over the creek. The cool, babbling stream has a calming effect on a hot summer day. Further downstream we see the effects of a recent flood where sediment from upstream has been deposited on a small delta. The power of water is impressive! Finally we come to the beach. It was here that Helen & Armour Ford built and stayed in their summer home before they bequeathed it to the province of British Columbia as a Park. The area also has quite a history that you can learn about as we hike.

Don’t forget to bring your bathing suit and water sandals.
